![]() You will need to gather element samples and some basic materials for each group of three students. This is a great inquiry lab that satisfies NGSS standards! Students will be making observations of the physical and chemical properties of pure element samples, grouping them into categories, and classifying them as metals, non-metals, or metalloids. I like to use this Metals, Nonmetals, and Metalloids observation lab early-on in my students’ exploration of the elements and the Periodic Table because students do not need to know about atoms– they only need to know how to make observations and a general sense of the Periodic Table. The student sheet is included as a digital version, too! #3: Metals, Non-metals, and Metalloids Lab The students enjoy looking at the pictures and seeing the elements in a “fresher” way! You could also have your students simply go to the website where the table is located and use this activity more like a webquest. I print a colored class-set of the table front/back (there is more information on the back of the squares), and a worksheet for each student. These include the number of valence electrons, atomic radius, number of electron shells, reactivity, boiling and melting points, electron affinity and electronegativity, and more! My most favorite activity to jump-start a unit on Atoms and the Periodic Table is this Periodic People activity. The Periodic Table is an amazing tool because it has SO MANY patterns embedded in it. I love this unit because the growth in my students’ understanding is so significant and they undergo a transformation before my eyes! With the exception of the occasional chemistry-obsessed student, most of my students start out this unit thinking that the Periodic Table is some sort of super complex graphic for brainiacs and mad scientists, or they simply think it’s an absolute bore.īut after a few weeks of study, they can navigate the families of elements on the table, interpret atomic structure based on an element’s position on the table, and glean information about how different atoms will interact with one another! Experiencing my students fall in love with the Periodic Table is amazing every year! In this post, I’m sharing some of my favorite activities to teach my middle school students about the Periodic Table. The unit that I most love to teach is Atoms and the Periodic Table.

![]() Once they're all slain, advance through the tenshu gates to the finale of the Tale. Up the steps it'll be another Mongol free-for-all, so employ the same strategy as the first one: slay the Shamans first, then the Archers, then everyone else while the Raiders are keeping them occupied. First, take down the Shieldmen on the bridge, then the three Archers on the other side. ![]() Head up the road to the next gate and pass through it to enter the Upper Fort. That's all the Raiders in the lower fort! Slay them, then free the two Raiders on the road up, and the three around the campfire. This will have fewer Mongols than before, but that is by no means a good reason for you to take them lightly. We suggest focusing on the weaker ones first, like Archers: with less Mongols, this makes it more likely for the Raiders to fight the stronger ones like the Super Brute, making it easier for you to attack them from behind or off-balance.įree the two prisoners nearby by unlocking their cells (or just slashing the door), then proceed to the next area. As ever, you'll want to head to the back of the battlefield so that you can quickly take out the Shamans, then direct your attention to the other Mongols. Luckily however your Raider allies will help keep most of them busy. Head through the nearby gate and, after another Eagle vision, you'll be fighting a whole mob of Mongols. We recommend using a Standoff if you have the Sakai Armor or Standoff Streak, since that will let you fell the Brute in one stroke rather than getting into a direct quarrel with him. You'll now only have two opponents left: a Pikeman and a Brute. Sneak along the edge of the cliff and slip in through the gap in the fence, then Assassinate him. With him down, your last stealth target is a Shaman near the Mongol Yurt at the top of the hill, on the cliff edge. Take him out just like you did the first. Next is a second Blue Archer in the more distant watch tower. Since the Longbow fires arrows with much more power, you can aim straight at his head from this distance. Next, if you have any Heavy Arrows, stand on the right-hand side of the foundation and look towards the campfire to spot the Shaman. Aim just above his head to compensate for the arrow's drop. From here, equip your Half Bow and use it to snipe the Blue Archer on top of the watch tower ahead. On your left you'll spot a stone foundation with you can use to hide behind. With your new Raider support, press forwards to the next area, which you may have been able to reach last time. They'll join Jin in his fight to retake Fort Sakai, and they're smart enough to follow his lead: if you stay low, they will as well, until you launch your attack proper. Once you're done, look for the Raiders that the Mongols were using as slave labor and Speak to them. If you don't have this, another good tactic is to try a Chain Assassination, or to Assassinate the Shaman alone so he doesn't cause trouble during the main fight. Since we had fully upgraded Sakai Clan Armor and the Improved Standoff Streak Technique, we went with the Standoff approach to kill five of the Mongols in a row, leaving only the Shaman. ![]() On the other side, hide behind the pile of logs and look for the Archer: you should easily be able to headshot him with an Arrow.įrom here you'll have to take out the rest of the Mongols. To start, head up the bank to the right of the bridge and swing across the gap using the Grapple Point. ![]() Your approach into the Fort will be just like The Eagle's Cry as well (assuming you approached from the South), but luckily since the Eagle isn't there, it's much more lightly defended and thus easier to make your way in. Both will transport you up to the top of the cliff and saves you a lot of time. To quickly leave Fume's Refuge, you can either use the crack in the wall near the Legends Storyteller, or use the prompt at the front gate. You've been here before of course: Jin attempted to storm it looking for allies in The Eagle's Cry tale. It's located in the middle of the Northern Yahata region, just South of Yahata Lighthouse. Your destination will of course be Fort Sakai. This makes it the perfect time for Jin to take it back. Talk with Fune, and she'll tell Jin that the Eagle is currently not at Fort Sakai, leaving it much less defended than usual. Head into Fume's house by going up the right-hand staircase, then climbing the ladder onto the roof, then drop down onto the balcony. Both will give you a Tale of Iki Side Quest. Along the way you'll bump into a man carrying a baby (which will trigger a vision when you first try to talk with him), and a lady in the upper-right walkway area, just past the civilians in the throes of the Eagle's poison. If you've just finished The Lightning in the Storm Tale, you'll be at the front gate to Fune's Refuge, and your task will be to speak with Fune. ![]() The commercial invoice should also identify any and all products being shipped and potential hazards.Ĭanadian Commercial Invoice – For the sole use of sending a package from outside of Canada and into the country.įedEx Commercial Invoice – When shipping a product internationally use this form when submitting a package to be shipped by FedEx.ĭHL Commercial Invoice – Use at selected DHL locations when sending a package to another country. Looking forward to hear new official news from Giants. I wouldn't want a riding horse to pull a heavy plow. But it depends on what kind of horses are in the game, for the use of pulling epuipment. In a dry season/grow stage you need to spray water over your crop. It would be great if you have to choose your fertilizer and weed killer prior to whatever you are going to sow. ![]() Like the plow after 3 harvests in order to have better yield and the 3 stages of fertilizing. Changelog 1.0.2.0: - Fixed Decoration tree, was only placed with new savegames, it was missing with loaded savegames. I kind of hope FS 19 will have this implemented into the game. This is the Giants horse trailer because I had the too little colors Ive got some which unfortunately I do not get the tailgate dyed out maybe someone can help me there but I think chrome is on the trailer really cool over. Also the level of nutrien and moisture played a big part in how well your crop would do. It forced you as player to kind of plan ahead. In fs 15 there was a great mod, where you had different kinds of weed killers and fertilizer, that worked with one crop but not the other. I mean heck building fences one wire at a time would cause some people to panic but not me atleast you won't get cut up on a video game lol. ![]() Like I said the more in the weeds the better. Hopefully we can ride them and use a variety of hand tools and horse drawn equipment like a classic game mode or something. Between ammonium nitrate prill anhydrous ammonia or UAN. I'm wondering how far off in the weeds this is going to be, the more in depth for me the better, also being able to pick what type of fertilizer you use would be nice. ![]() ![]() With Garcia and Hunter working in overdrive and building the core of the band’s classic songbook, Bob Weir upped his output with new songwriting partner John Perry Barlow. Scoring hits for the Dead in the sense of the radio and pop charts, including “Truckin,” “Uncle John’s Band,” and “Casey Jones,” they also produced the deeper kinds of hit, songs that could be (and were) played around campfires, back porches, and college dorms. With Robert Hunter’s lyrics at the center, Garcia’s songs simplified from psychedelic prog-rock to folk and country-grounded music, and the Grateful Dead soon released Workingman’s Dead (1970) and American Beauty (1970) in rapid succession. Constanten would depart after barely 12 months, but the lineup would generate the indelible Live/Dead (1969), a live album drawn from shows at San Francisco’s Avalon Ballroom and the Fillmore West. Joining a year later was Tom Constanten (keyboards), Lesh’s former classmate at Mills College, where the two studied under composer Luciano Berio. Shortly thereafter, the band added Mickey Hart (drums, percussion), who helped the Dead realize their psychedelic musical vision with new rhythmic intensity and commitment to practice. Joining in autumn 1967 was full-time collaborator Robert Hunter (lyrics), an old friend of Garcia’s. Though they’d written (and abandoned) a number of ambitious songs, the band broadened their scopes in every way: building their live shows into jam-linked suites, using the recording studio as an instrument on the ambitious Anthem of the Sun (1968) and Aoxomoxoa (1969), and expanding their lineup. Having already a set a course of constant musical change, it was in the next years that the Grateful Dead would begin to blossom both onstage and in the studio. Signing to Warner Brothers in late 1966, they released their self-titled debut later that spring, consisting mostly of cover songs, with only one extended jam. A collaborative tool for the Grateful Dead, psychedelics were an ingrained part of the band’s mythos, occasionally (but only occasionally) to their chagrin. As the band settled in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, acid simultaneously became both illegal and a global trend, symbolically if not always literally. The newly christened Grateful Dead found an unusual and appropriate patron in psychedelic chemist and sound engineer Augustus Owsley Stanley III, known as Bear, whose profits sustained them as they began to write their own songs and hone their conversational playing style in 1966. Appearing in many cultures, it is a folktale in which the protagonist resolves the debt of a deceased stranger, and later receives karmic repayment from their spirit incarnate: the Grateful Dead.ĭebuting with their new name at the first public Acid Test thrown by author Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters in December 1965, the relationship cemented the band’s part in the multidisciplinary Bay Area arts scene starting to flourish around the use of still-legal LSD. They debuted in May of 1965 and quickly drafted in Garcia’s friend, the lapsed experimental composer Phil Lesh (bass, vocals).ĭiscovering a single by another band called the Warlocks-most likely a Massachusetts garage rock quintet-the now-former California Warlocks resorted to stoned bibliomancy for their new name, picking “Grateful Dead” at random out of a dictionary. ![]() Fronted by Ron “Pigpen” McKernan (organ, vocals, harmonic, and later percussion), the blues enthusiast who’d urged them to go electric, the new band also included Garcia’s occasional substitute teacher Bob Weir (guitar, vocals) along with Bill Kreutzmann (drums, percussion). Assembling a jug band with his coworkers at the Menlo Park music store where he taught, the happily sloppy Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions plugged in and transformed into the Warlocks by 1965. Creating an artistic ecosystem all their own, the Grateful Dead would transform American music and arguably even America itself.Īfter a comically disastrous stint in the Army and discharge in late 1960, Jerry Garcia (guitar, vocals) had spent an intense four years immersed in traditional American music, turning himself into a virtuoso acoustic guitarist and banjoist. Never playing the same setlist twice (except that once), the Dead’s musical legacy remains unfathomably rich, spread across a combined body of live and studio recordings. Emerging as a vessel for a vibrant global counterculture, they would create an unparalleled original songbook through 30 years of recording and touring. Fusing rock and roll, folk, and jazz with avant-garde, visual, and literary traditions-and virtually inventing a new way to play music in the process-they became one of the most popular, enduring, and influential bands in American history. Formed as a quintet in California in 1965, the Grateful Dead became as much a folktale as the story from which they drew their name. |
